Disability ID card: understand the official application route.

Bangladesh's Disability Information System provides an online route for disability registration and identity-card applications. This guide explains the official steps in simpler language.

01

Before applying

The official form has basic eligibility and identity requirements.

  • The applicant must be a Bangladeshi citizen.
  • The form may be used by the person with disability, a guardian acting for them, or an organization acting appropriately on their behalf.
  • The official instructions require a birth-registration number or national identity information.
  • A valid mobile number and email address are requested in the online process.
02

What happens next

Submission is not the final step.

  • The application is routed to the relevant upazila or urban social-services office based on the current address.
  • The applicant is expected to attend the medical assessment at the time provided by the responsible office.
  • The official instructions say to bring the printed copy generated after online submission to that medical assessment.
  • The ID card is collected from the relevant social-services office after notification.
03

Avoid preventable problems

Keep a simple application record.

  • Save a copy of the submitted form and any application reference.
  • Keep the mobile number used in the application active.
  • Confirm the relevant local social-services office if the address or jurisdiction is unclear.
  • Do not pay an unofficial intermediary to promise approval.
