Bangladesh's Child Helpline 1098 is a nationwide toll-free child-protection service operated under the Department of Social Services with UNICEF support.

When 1098 may be relevant
The official service is designed for child-protection concerns.
- Violence or physical harm involving a child.
- Abuse, exploitation, or a serious protection concern.
- A child or another person seeking help on the child's behalf.
- Situations where the caller needs guidance on a child-protection pathway.

If you call
Share the minimum facts needed to explain the concern.
- What is happening and why the child may be unsafe.
- Where the child is now, if location is relevant to immediate protection.
- Whether the danger is happening right now.
- How the caller can be contacted if follow-up is necessary and safe.

Urgent danger
Do not wait for an informational website.
If a child has a medical emergency or is in immediate danger, seek the appropriate emergency response immediately. Caira cannot assess or manage emergencies.
